Through not relying on expensive toys you are giving you child the gift of creativity and imagination!  The resources you have in and around your home provide endless opportunities. Here are just a few ideas. 

1) Make huts with boxes or sheets over the tables. 

2) Make up your own treasure hunt. 

3) Go on a walk and collect natural resources (leaves, shells etc) and use them in art. 

4) Put on a concert or play, do some gardening or baking. 

5) Play old fashioned games such as 3 legged race or musical chairs. 

6) Make matching games - collect the supermarket mailers and cut them out to find matches. 

7) Ask friends it they would like to swap toys for a week, their train set for your Lego blocks for example.

8) Visit your local library and borrow puzzles and books. 

9) It may be cost effective to join a toy library as children’s interests and strengths change quickly.
